Jack Grealish shares amazing throwback pic of himself as a kid in England shirt and shades after World Cup 2022 call-up

JACK GREALISH posted an epic throwback picture as he celebrated his World Cup call-up.

Gareth Southgate announced his 26-man England squad for the upcoming tournament in Qatar yesterday.

The Manchester City star, who joined for £100m last year from his boyhood club Aston Villa, was named among his attackers.

And the 27-year-old made no secret of his joy and excitement at being selected for the Middle East showpiece as he took to Twitter yesterday.

Grealish firstly tweeted a video made up of childhood photos and videos of himself that showed his progression from a young boy to his present day status as a Premier League winner and Three Lions international.

He captioned it with: “Dream come true. I’m just a kid from Solihull who’s going to a World Cup with England.

“I remember going into school early to watch England vs Brazil in 2002, my first ever World Cup I can remember… to think 20 years later I’d be playing at one blows my mind…”

He then followed that up with a brilliant retro snap of himself as a boy wearing shades and donning an England shirt onto the social media platform.

And followed by a heart and England flag emoji, he added: “It’s always an honour to pull on the England shirt and it’s a privilege to be going out there representing you all watching back home.

“Can’t wait to meet up with the boys on Monday. Hopefully together we can make you all proud again. Come on England!”

Grealish, who has represented England 24 times, won 13 caps in 2021 in what was his breakthrough year on the international stage.

He played a key role in the rearranged Euro 2020 tournament by helping the Three Lions to reach the final.

And he has followed that up by going on to grab his first goal for the nation against Andorra earlier this year.

England start their World Cup campaign against Iran on Monday, November 21 in Group B.

Next up is a clash against Gregg Berhalter’s USA, with the mouth-watering clash against near-neighbours Wales the final game on November 29.
