MARCOS ROJO has revealed that he rejected Lionel Messi’s request to join him at Inter Miami.
The former Manchester United star received a call from the star saying that there was a “possibility” of a move to the MLS outfit.

Rojo, 34, is currently playing for Boca Juniors in Argentina and has become a key man for the team.
He joined the club in 2021 from Man United but could have left earlier this year after speaking with his compatriot.
Messi has already been reunited with former team-mates Sergio Busquets, Jordi Alba and Luis Suarez at David Beckham‘s club.
However, he did not have the same luck when trying to convince Rojo to move to north of the equator into the United States.
Rojo told Radio La Red: “Leo called me, it’s not like it was just anyone or an intermediary, no one.
“I spoke with Leo Messi, who told me about the possibility of going to Inter.
“Imagine what that means for any footballer.
“The truth is I was not convinced to leave Boca, I had recently renewed.

“The only thing I did was communicate with Roman (Riquelme) to tell him about the situation and to tell him that if he needed me here I was going to stay.
“I wasn’t convinced to leave, I didn’t want to leave.
“If he told me that he needed me here for this year, I was 100 per cent convinced to continue in Boca and I want to continue doing it.”
Rojo joined United back in 2014 and he spent seven years at Old Trafford under the likes of Louis van Gaal, Jose Mourinho and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
He made just 76 Premier League appearances during that period but he did win both the FA and League Cup while at the Red Devils.
The defender was also part of the squad that Mourinho led to Europa League success in 2017.
