‘I will rip his head off’, fumes MMA star Cedric Doumbe after American rival mocks TOE injury in controversial loss

MMA star Cedric Doumbe has vowed to rip his opponent’s head off after being mocked over his controversial TOE injury loss.

Doumbe in September fell to defeat against French rival Baysangur Chamsoudinov after a bizarrely complaining of a splinter in his foot.

The former kickboxing champion signalled to British referee Marc Goddard that he had something stuck in his foot.

But after being told to fight on, and again calling for time to have his foot checked, Goddard abruptly stopped the bout.

Doumbe was left “disgusted” by the decision having been hit with a controversial technical knockout defeat.

He now returns on Friday, May 17 back at the Accor Arena in Paris against American Jaleel Willis.

And Doumbe, 31, said: “I just don’t want Jaleel to pray that a splinter gets in the cage this time.

“I hope it’s going to be good, I hope it’s not going to be Marc Goddard again because then we can make a good fight. That’s it.”

But Willis, 32, hit back: “There’s going to be hands in the cage, no splinters. It’s going to be hands in the cage.

“You ain’t got to worry about no splinters, it’s going to be straight hands in the cage.”

Doumbe – a friend of PSG superstar Kylian Mbappe – is now 5-1 in the cage after crossing over from kickboxing to much fanfare.

Now Doumbe looks to silence outspoken 16-5 Willis after being mocked over his toe injury.

He said: “I’m a fighter, I was born to fight, I was born to knock people out. I was born to knock Jaleel out so I will do it.

“France is waiting for me, all the French crowd, the French people and even American people are waiting for me to knock him out.

“I will do what I do best, I will rip his head off, shut his mouth and send him back to the US.”
