ARSENAL could finally sign a striker this summer as Mikel Arteta targets another Premier League title charge.

The Gunners narrowly missed out on the crown this season after finishing two points behind Manchester City.

Arteta is now looking to strengthen his squad ahead of the 2024-25 campaign.

And reports claim a striker is at the top of his priority list.

RB Leipzig frontman Benjamin Sesko has allegedly “said yes” to a summer move, with the Gunners now eyeing a £45million transfer.

But given Kai Havertz‘s strong end to the season in the No9 position, how would Arteta fit both into the squad?

Should Arteta decide to splash the cash on Sesko, the striker – who scored 18 goals for RB Leipzig this season – would likely jump straight into Arsenal‘s starting line-up.

That means Havertz would either be moved back into midfield or forced out of the XI completely.

The Germany international made 37 Premier League appearances for Arsenal this season.

He played in midfield for 24 games alongside Declan Rice and spent the rest as a No9.

The Germany star could even be dropped in favour of another midfielder

If he wants to play both Sesko and Havertz together, Arteta could even try putting the latter in an attacking midfield position alongside club captain Martin Odegaard.

Havertz has heaped praise on Arteta since joining Arsenal.

He recently said: “He helped me from the first day I arrived and showed me a different spectrum of how to play football that I had never experienced before and how to make myself better on the pitch as a player.

“I’m so happy he helped me with a lot of things and is someone who wants to improve the players and that’s what makes him special.

“I’ve never had a coach before who was so detailed and showed so many different things that maybe I didn’t even know about.”
