Mexico were dumped out of Copa America on Sunday night, after struggling to score in front of 63,000 fans in Glendale, Arizona.

Meanwhile, opponents Ecuador secured a place in the quarter-finals, where they will face Lionel Messi and defending champions Argentina.

And just moments after the final whistle things got heated between the rival supporters – who were seated together.

One Ecuadorian fan wearing the yellow home shirt was spotted in a viral video lying down across the seats.

Another in a light green Mexico-away jersey swung at another Ecuadorian follower.

He fails to hit but his rival lands a huge punch sprawling the Mexican fan to the floor.

Chelsea midfielder Moisés Caicedo played the match that saw his side secure a spot in the next round.
