Harry Kane backed to plunge Man Utd into even bigger crisis with Erik ten Hag hoping for Champions League miracle

ERIK TEN HAG has been warned Harry Kane aims to heap on the misery and deliver a Champions League KO.

The fired-up England captain returns home for tomorrow’s Old Trafford clash after Bayern Munich’s 5-1 thumping by Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday.

And Bayern boss Thomas Tuchel claims ex-Spurs striker Kane is desperate to plunge Manchester United deeper into crisis.

Tuchel said: “Yes, for him 100 per cent. He is a winner — he is a champion.

“It’s nice to go back to England and to Old Trafford. Harry will love it I think and is looking forward to it.

“Harry is a top pro and a fantastic guy who has adjusted very well to life in Germany.”

United must beat Bayern, who have qualified top of Group A — and pray  FC Copenhagen and Galatasaray draw to reach the Champions League last 16.

Ten Hag’s strugglers are already on the ropes after Saturday’s  3-0 home defeat by Bournemouth.

The Red Devils are ten points off Prem leaders Liverpool, bottom of their Euro group and already out of the Carabao Cup.

Under-fire boss Ten Hag has the daunting prospect of trying to stop Kane — a summer transfer target for United.

Kane had a rare off-day on Saturday as he failed to add to his record-breaking 22-goal haul  in his debut season with the German giants.

Tuchel says Kane is happy in Germany following his £104million move from Spurs in August. Ex-Chelsea manager Tuchel added: “Life in Munich is a good life.

“He is fluent in German! Munich is a safe city — a beautiful city.

“We have a lot of nature and a lot of golf courses for Harry when he has some time off.

“And everybody speaks English, which is good for him, that helps him a lot.”

Tuchel refused to blame Kane, who admitted the performance “wasn’t good enough,” for Bayern’s shocking Bundesliga loss to Frankfurt.

Tuchel said: “We could not bring the balls up to him and normally he is very strong.”

Bayern will be without attacker Serge Gnabry after the ex-Arsenal star picked up a tendon injury.

Gnabry, who has already missed games due to a hip injury and fractured arm earlier this season, came on in the 66th minute on Saturday but limped off five minutes later.

A Bayern statement said: “Serge suffered a muscle tendon injury in the left abductor area.”
