Hammarby IF director of football Jesper Jansson expects new signing David Accam to be an inspiration to young African players at the club after completing a loan move from Nashville. The 30-year-old has joined the Swedish Allsvenskan for a 12 months period with an option to make it permanent. The Ghana international is not new to football in that European country following his successes at Helsingborgs IF and stersunds. And Hammarby football chief Jesper Jansson expects the Ghanaian to be an instant hit while being a role model for young talented African players at the club.I know David very well both as a player and as a person, and if we can lift him to the level he has in him, we get a quality player who will contribute a lot both on the field and in the group, he said as quoted on the clubs website. We believe that he can add another dimension to our offensive game, and we are convinced that he will make a strong role model, especially for our younger African players.”With the advantageous agreement structure, we have plenty of time to get David in shape, and also to evaluate the future option during the spring.”

Accam made just five more appearances for Nashville in the Major Soccer League, due to a combination of injury and competition for minutes with forwards Alex Muyl and Abu Danladi.
