Ghana defender Mohammed Salisu happy to make debut for SouthamptonÂ
Ghana and Southampton defender Mohammed Salisu is happy to have made his debut against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the FA Cup.The 21-year old played his first game for the club on Thursday at the Molineux since his 12 million euros move from Real Valladolid last summer.Salisu was handed a starting berth by Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhttl which he excelled as the Saints kept a clean sheet.Goals from Danny Ings and Stuart Armstrong ensured the Saints secured a 2-0 win at the Molineux to progress to the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.Reacting to his first game for Southampton, Mohammed Salisu said, “Very happy to make my debut for@southamptonfctonight. Proud to be part of this team and glad with the result ” Speaking to the media on making his debut against Wolves and the win, he said, “It’s a perfect night, I’m really happy to be back with the team,” the Ghanaian centre-back said after the game. “The team really did well and worked hard, I’m very happy.”I’m very excited for a clean sheet, it’s very important. It was a great boost really, we are going to give our all on Sunday.”I think we need to focus on the next round, fight hard together and I think we’ll go further. When we are on the pitch, we are all the same and we have to give our all”.Salisu will be hoping to get more game time after finally making his debut for the Saints.
