Ghana defender Daniel Opare to leave Zulte Waregem at the end of the season
Ghana defender Daniel Opare will leave Belgium top-flight side Zulte Waregem at the end of the 2020/21 season.Opare’s contract with the Jupiter Pro League outfit ends on June 30, 2021 and could leave as a free agent.However, the Essevees could start contract talks with the player, having impressed this season.The 30-year-old is currently out with an injury which ruled him out of the campaign.”The season is over for wing defender Daniel Opare. He was operated on the knee this week,” a statement on the club’s website read some few weeks ago.Opare has played 29 matches for Zulte Waregem this season and recorded two assists.The Ghana international has been battling injuries since returning to Belgium in 2018 to sign for Royal Antwerp.He was a star performer for giants Standard Lige during his four-year stay and that earned him a move to FC Porto.He had a successful half-season loan spell at Turkish side Besiktas in January 2015 which landed him a German Bundesliga transfer to Augsburg that summer transfer window.
