Frankie Dettori BANNED after Champions Day heroics as it’s revealed half the winners broke rules at Ascot
FRANKIE DETTORI has been hit with a whopping 16-day ban after his Champions Day heroics.
The world’s most famous jockey was found to have broken whip rules during his sensational win on Trawlerman in the Long Distance Cup.

Dettori also broke whip rules during his runner-up finish on Kinross in the very next race.
All in all it was revealed three of the six winners at Ascot breached whip guidance, with Sam James banned for his ride on 22-1 Poptronic in the Fillies & Mares Stakes.
David Allan, who beat Kinross on 40-1 Art Power in the Champions Sprint, also got an eight-day ban for going over the whip limit.
Dettori’s bans mean he is officially ruled out of a money-spinning ride in the Melbourne Cup, which takes place in Australia on November 7.
The jockey was found to have used the whip once above the permitted level of six on both Trawlerman and Kinross.
Dettori, 52, brought the house down with his incredible last-to-first ride on King Of Steel in his final race at Ascot, the Champion Stakes.
But these bans will leave a sour taste in the mouth, especially as Ryan Moore, who went down a head on Kyprios in the Long Distance Cup, did not break any rules.
Dettori is banned from Tuesday November 7 to Saturday 11 and Monday 13 to Wednesday 15 for his Trawlerman ride.
While he will sit out Thursday 16 to Saturday 18 and Monday 20 to Friday 24 November for his antics aboard Kinross.
Both penalties have been doubled because they came in Class 1 races.
The bans mean Dettori will be free to star in ITV’s I’m A Celeb – where he is rumoured to be earning a £500,000 appearance fee.
Regarding his Trawlerman ride, the BHA whip review committee said: “Frankie Dettori, the rider of the winner, Trawlerman, was found to have used his whip once above the permitted level of six from just inside two furlongs out.
“Taking into account that this was a Class 1 race, the penalty in respect of the above permitted level was doubled.”
While for Kinross, bosses found the jockey ‘used his whip once
above the permitted level of six from approximately two-and-a-half furlongs out’.
