Former Netherlands international George Boateng has hailed Asamoah Gyan’s “brave” move to return to the Ghanaian top-flight after an illustrious career abroad.The 35-year-old defied the odds to sign a one-year deal with mega rich Ghanaian club Legon Cities before the start of the season.The iconic former Ghana captain staged a return to the domestic top-flight for the first time in 17 years.And former Aston Villa midfielder George Boateng has applauded the ex-Sunderland hitman for the decision.”I think it is a brave move, Boateng toldJoy Sports. “If you are a young footballer and you want to make it in the game and you have a huge star like Gyan playing beside you, you cant get a better way of motivation than that.For those who are playing, not only with him but the others in the league, it is outstanding.You see an ex-star who has been the countrys captain for many years, playing in the league youre playing, you have to go by that as an inspiration.Gyan, who has made three appearances for his new side so far joined Italian outfit Udinese in 2003 from Liberty Professionals.
