Cancelo, 30, has not played for Manchester City since January 2023 after a fallout with Pep Guardiola.

He has had loan spells at Bayern Munich and Barcelona since then.

The full-back has now signed a contract with Al-Hilal until 2027.

He will earn a staggering £12.63m a year at his new club, which is £243,000-per-week.

Cancelo bid a fond farewell to City as the club released a statement confirming his exit.

He said: “I would like to wish everyone at City continued success in the future.

“I had many very special moments during my time here at this great club.

“I would like to thank my team-mates, the coaches, all the staff at City and the fans for everything during my time here.”

“I would also like to give him my best wishes for the future and the rest of his career.”

Cancelo made the move to the Etihad back in 2019 when he left Juventus.

In his first two seasons at the club he won the Premier League title and Carabao Cup twice.

He made 154 appearances for the club and scored nine goals and assisted 21 more.

Last season, while on loan at Barca, he made 32 appearances in LaLiga and scored twice.

Cancelo will join a number of high-profile players that have made the move to Al-Hilal.

His new team-mates include Neymar, Aleksandr Mitrovic, Ruben Neves, Malcom, Kalidou Koulibaly and Sergej Milikovic-Savic.
