New boss Arne Slot has won two out of two so far and introduced some unique ideas.

He appears to have revolutionised Liverpool’s set-piece strategies, particularly corners.

Against Arsenal he directed every outfield player – bar the corner takeer – to bunch up on the edge of the penalty box.

Then moments before a cross was delivered the players dispersed and took up various positions in and around the area.

The corners failed to produce a goal but they did wind up Arsenal fans.

One likened it to something out of TV show Ted Lasso, saying: “Liverpool taking Ted Lasso ass corners lol. Sad.”

Another added: “”That is one of the worst corner routines going.”

A third wrote: “Liverpool been playing too much EAFC25 bro why’d they set up for that corner in slant formation.”

Arsenal have a tricky start to the season

Mikel Arteta also had his say on Slot’s style of play and the new dynamic he has brought to Liverpool.

He said: “They (Liverpool) are a team that are looking good, that is clear, with ideas they are looking to implement. Every coach has their touch and characteristics that make the team’s style of play. You can see what he (Slot) is doing.”
