Epsom Derby favourite lands dreaded draw as 100-1 outsider gets ‘golden hot box’ for world’s most famous Flat race
THE Epsom Derby could be set for a shock after a 100-1 outsider landed the ‘golden’ draw.
Lucky stall 10 has been called the ‘hot box’ with more winners than any other from that position.

And it’s 100-1 outsider God’s Window who has got it this year for trainers John & Thady Gosden and jockey Kieran Shoemark, who has replaced Frankie Dettori as their No1 rider.
Meanwhile favourite City Of Troy landed the dreaded stall one.
Bookies Betfred reacted immediately by pushing Aidan O’Brien’s star colt out to 7-2, making him co-favourites with Los Angeles and Ancient Wisdom.
Adayar did manage to win for Godolphin from that stall in 2021.
But the last horse to win from there before that was Oath all the way back in 1999 in another 16-runner Derby.
City Of Troy is on a massive rebound mission after the champion two-year-old flopped completely in the 2000 Guineas.
Ancient Wisdom, trained by Charlie Appleby, has been drawn in stall 11 while Los Angeles – one of three O’Brien runners – has landed number four.
No horse has ever won the Derby from stall 11.
While there was more bad news for those who have already backed the likes of Sayedaty Sadaty and Voyage.
They were drawn two and 16 respectively, with no winners of the Derby in its 244-year history ever winning from either.
Boyle Sports reported City Of Troy was absolutely friendless in the market.
Spokesperson Brian O’Keeffe said: “The Derby market has been a rollercoaster ride this season but City Of Troy is really falling out of favour.
“Los Angeles has seen plenty of support in recent days as have some of the British runners, but it’s starting to look like punters are keen on anyone but the favourite.”
