EPL: Pochettino Open To Replacing Tuchel At Chelsea
For another time, Argentine professional football coach, Mauricio Pochettino, may replace his German counterpart, Thomas Tuchel at Chelsea.
Naija News reports that Chelsea on Wednesday announced that it has parted company with Tuchel.
The English Premier League (EPL) club made the announcement in a post on its official website barely 24 hours after losing to Dinamo Zagreb in the UEFA Champions League.
The Blues have since launched a search for another tactician that can rescue the club from embarrassing defeats in both EPL and champions league respectively.
The likes of Pochettino, Brighton’s Graham Potter and former Real Madrid coach, Zinedine Zidane, have been linked with a move to replace Tuchel at Stamford Bridge.
Reporting, however, on Wednesday, The Athletic said Pochettino is open to becoming Chelsea’s next manager after Tuchel.
Naija News recalls that Pochettino had last year taken the place of Tuchel at PSG. The Argentine subsequently left PSG and has been out of work since the end of last season.
It could be recalled also that Pochettino spent six years in charge of Chelsea’s fierce rivals Tottenham Hotspur. He led Spurs through their most successful Premier League period despite failing to end their trophy drought, reaching the Champions League final in 2019.
