Egyptian Olympic wrestler arrested over sexual assault after ‘grabbing woman in Paris street while very drunk’

AN OLYMPIC athlete has been accused of sexual assault in Paris after allegedly grabbing a woman in the street.

The unnamed Egyptian wrestler allegedly grabbed the victim at around 4:30am on Friday and was then held in custody.

Le Parisien reports: “According to our information, he is a wrestler who participated in the Olympic competition. The victim filed a complaint.”

The alleged assault took place by the River Seine, on the Austerlitz quay, in the 13th arrondissement of the city.

The wrestler was reportedly “very drunk.”

A spokesman for Paris prosecutors confirmed an investigation had been opened for sexual assault, without offering further details.
