Dina Asher-Smith heartbreakingly misses out on medal by 0.02 SECONDS in Olympics 2024 women’s 200m final
DINA ASHER-SMITH missed out on a medal in the women’s 200m.
The Team GB star could only watch on as USA‘s Gabrielle Thomas clinched gold.

Asher-Smith, 28, was unable to get herself on the podium as Saint Lucia’s Julien Alfred and USA’s Brittany Brown took silver and bronze.
The Brit was agonisingly close to a medal as she was only 0.02 seconds off third place.
She completed the event with a time of just 22.22 seconds.
Asher-Smith’s team-mate Daryll Neita was only just behind as she finished the race in 22.23 seconds.
After the race she insisted that she was “proud” of her performance and that she “held her own”.
She told the BBC: “I feel good, it’s been a long week and I’m proud of that performance.
“It was a really strong field, you’ve got so many great bend runners… I was really proud to have held my own.
“I was just told get out and keep going, if you die you die but just get out and keep going.

“I kind of had fun doing that because normally, you run far more strategically.
“Women’s sprinting is really incredible right now, if you go back to 2012, these kinds of times would have done well even in that era.”
Neita added: “I gave it everything and didn’t let myself down at all.
“I’m a medallist one day I’ve just got to wait.”
Team GB did manage to claim a medal on the track this evening as Josh Kerr picked up a silver medal.
The runner came second in the 1500m but did manage to beat his Norweigian rival Jakob Ingebrigtsen.
