David Beckham ‘chartered two-seater plane’ just to see Spice Girl wife Victoria for a few hours, reveals new Netflix doc

DAVID Beckham would fly to visit his wife Victoria in a small private – before returning just hours later.

The football icon went above and beyond to spend quality time with his wife at the height of their fame.

Victoria reveals on their new Netflix documentary, Beckham, the extreme lengths he took while she was on a global tour with the Spice Girls.

David had just secured his dream of playing the World Cup and hoped to have Victoria by his side.

But she had her own soaring career in the pop group – so David would fly to her.

“I was on tour, not knowing when I was going to see him. That was the difficult thing,” said Victoria.

“He used to do anything that he could just to spend time with me.

“He would sometimes charter a tiny tiny plane like a two-seater plane just to come over for a few hours and then go back.”

David said in the documentary: “Everything about Victoria I loved. I didn’t know she was the strong woman that she was and I liked that.

“I don’t know whether it was because I wanted her to look after me…”

Documentary director Fisher Stevens said: “You must have felt safe with her?”

“Yeah I did”, David replied.

“She’s a strong, strong woman.”

He laughed: “She can be a pain in the a*** though. She was a pain in the a*** this morning.”

Elsewhere in the documentary, Victoria fought back tears as she opened up for the first time about the pain she felt in the wake of husband David’s alleged affair.

David said the felt like they were “drowning” as their marriage was placed under enormous pressure while playing in Spain in 2003.
