Darts star backtracks after ‘kinky’ comment and admits ‘I shouldn’t say that’ following World Championship win
ROB CROSS admits he might be considered kinky by some for saying he loves coming through “rough” matches on the oche.
Voltage beat Swedish qualifier Jeffrey de Graaf 4-2 in the third round but he did not have it his own way throughout the six sets.

Cross, who hit ten 180s, averaged 101.32 and took out 15 of his 29 double attempts, even threw his darts in anger on the table after losing the third set.
Asked to explain the match overall, the No.8 seed said: “I like it rough I suppose – I shouldn’t say that as I may sound kinky!
“Sometimes those type of matches show what is inside of you. You have to show those minerals, and give your best performance.
“I would have liked a 4-0 win but what would I have learned from it?
“Sometimes you want to know under the scrutiny and pressure that it has to be there. I learned a little bit more about myself let’s say.”
The 2018 winner is now through to the last 16 at Alexandra Palace after returning following the Christmas break.
Cross’ victory over De Graaf has seen him equal his performance at the last two PDC World Darts Championship.
The number eight seed will now look to reach the quarter-finals for just the second time later this week.

He will take on the winner of Jonny Clayton vs Krzysztof Ratajski, who are set to meet during the afternoon session on Friday.
Cross has not gone beyond the fourth round since winning on debut at Ally Pally in 2018, beating Phil Taylor in the final.
