Conte To Quit Inter Milan Within 48 Hours
Inter Milan manager, Antonio Conte is set to dump the club within the next 48 hours, according to La Gazzetta Dello Sport.
Conte led his team to their first league title since 2010, finishing 12 points clear at the top of Serie A.
However, the president of the club, Steven Zhang and their Chinese owners Suning want to reduce the wage bill by up to 20% and raise €100million in player sales by the end of the transfer window.
The decision of the club leadership did not go down well with Conte and he “expressed all his bitterness” over the new direction in the meeting with the club’s hierarchy.
Conte is set to meet with the club president week to agree on the termination of his contract, which could cost around €6m (£5.2m).
The Italian manager believes Inter Milan needs to continue spending to enhance the squad’s development.
