However, new signing Eriksen jumped to the defence of the former Ajax boss, insisting he has done a good job at helping him and his fellow new players settle in.

Asked whether he was adapting well to life at Old Trafford, he told United’s in-house media: “One hundred per cent.

“I think that the whole set-up from the club and also the group of players, managers, everyone is really taking good care of all of us who has come in.

“Everyone has come in and everyone was coming in at different times, so we really had time to develop a good relationship and then a new player was coming in to get another new relationship.

“No, it’s been good, you can feel the vibe is good. The players are getting to see each other on the pitch and off it.

“I think, in general, I’ve been very happy to be here. I’ve felt very welcome since the beginning and still feel like that and, again, I’m here to play football. I’ve done a lot of that so I like that.”

The Denmark international notched his first Man Utd goal against Fulham last weekend before providing the assist for Alejandro Garnacho’s late winner.

Eriksen’s strong form at United saw him collect the club’s Player-of-the-Month award in September.

The 30-year-old also revealed how impressed he was with the positive approach from Ten Hag and his staff.

He said: “I think what impressed me most has been the thought of always being on the front foot, always choosing the offensive way into a game, never backing off, and always going full all-out attack and we take it from there.”

And Eriksen has been one of the key stars behind this style of play, adding a team-high six assists in all competitions.

But with the World Cup now just days away, Utd fans will need to wait until at least after Christmas before they see the midfielder back in action in the Premier League again.

During Ronaldo’s explosive interview the Portuguese legend did not hold back.
