JOSKO GVARDIOL has handed Chelsea a huge transfer boost, saying he wants to “go with” Cristopher Nkunku, who reportedly has a pre-arranged summer move to Stamford Bridge.

The Blues attempted to sign Gvardiol, 21, from RB Leipzig in the summer transfer window.

Instead, the Croatia international signed a new deal running until 2027 and stayed put in Germany.

But Chelsea’s raid on the Bundesliga outfit didn’t start and end with Gvardiol.

They reportedly wrapped up a pre-arranged deal to bring France international Nkunku to the Premier League this summer in a £53million deal.

And in a boost to Chelsea, landing Nkunku could help them sign Gvardiol should they reignite their interest in the defender.

Gvardiol has admitted that he wants to go wherever “unbelievable” Nkunku ends up.

Speaking to The Times, the Leipzig ace said: “I have never seen before a player like Christoph, he is unbelievable.”

Gvardiol continued: “Every time I talk with someone about him I always say wherever he goes I want to go with him.”

The Croatia World Cup star also revealed details on last summer’s failed transfer to Chelsea.

He said: “I was really confused because one month before the window starts I was upstairs with the sporting director and he says, ‘Yeah Josko, we are not going to sell you, we need you, we believe in you.’

“I was like ok I am fine with this, I can stay here, I like it here, all I need is to work on myself, to play, to win something else.

“It was like this until the last two days.”

Gvardiol added: “My agent called me and said that Chelsea is extremely interested and, of course, you definitely think about a serious offer from a huge club like Chelsea.

“Leipzig said they didn’t want to sell me.

“In the end I really struggled with that decision but we didn’t make an agreement. It is what it is.”

The Blues are having a torrid season and a 1-0 loss to Southampton at the weekend has Graham Potter’s men stuck in mid-table.

Chelsea also face elimination from the Champions League after losing the first leg of their round of 16 clash 1-0 to Borussia Dortmund.
