Chelsea fans hail ‘win-win’ transfer situation as Real Madrid plot permanent move for forgotten £72m man

CHELSEA supporters have declared it a “win-win” for everybody after a report claimed both Kepa Arrizabalaga and Real Madrid want to make his move permanent.

The Spaniard joined Los Blancos on a season-long loan in August after Thibaut Courtois’ injury.

Carlo Ancelotti has made him first-choice for the LaLiga giants, and the 29-year-old has started all eight top-flight matches plus their two Champions League games so far.

Spanish publication Relevo have claimed that Madrid are now considering the option of signing Kepa permanently at the end of the season after his impressive displays this term.

And the former Athletic Bilbao star has once again reiterated his desire to remain at the Bernabeu ahead of tonight’s trip to Sporting Braga.

Kepa said: “I’d say it has been a very positive two months.

“We’ve started the season well and it’s a long season, but we’re on the right path.

“So, I’d say it has been a positive start, but I know any grade for my performances this season will be given at the end of the campaign.

“I said it then and I still hope to stay. But, we haven’t spoken about that or negotiated anything yet. It’s only October and we’re focused on the busy schedule.”

Kepa became the world’s most-expensive goalkeeper in 2018 when he arrived at Chelsea for £72m and remains under contract until 2025.

He has made 163 appearances for the West London outfit but he has endured a rollercoaster time at Stamford Bridge.

However, with the Blues being linked with a swoop for Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsdale in January, fans seemed to be all in agreement after this latest report.

One supporter reacted to the news on social media by commenting: “Win-win. Happy for him and for us.”

“I like this kind of news….let them sign him,” commented another.
