Chelsea Beats Arsenal 3-0 To Win Women FA Cup

Chelsea female team has beaten a toothless Arsenal side to win this season’s women’s FA Cup.

Naija News understands that the female Blues took an early lead in the final at Wembley on Sunday when 28-year-old English professional player, Fran Kirby fired in a goal just three minutes into the game.

Emma Hayes’ side doubled their lead with another goal from Sam Kerr while the host team were still hoping for an equalizer in the tough game.

Dominating Chelsea sealed their win with another brilliant goal after Sam Kerr made a dink over Zinsberger.

It was a hugely impressive performance for the Blues, who were making their fifth FA Cup final appearance against an Arsenal side, Naija News reports.

The 3-0 victory also saw the Blues complete a domestic treble after the competition was postponed last season because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Speaking in a postmatch interview, Chelsea’s double goalscorer Kerr said: “I think we deserved it – I think we played really well, as we have done in the past few weeks.”

Meanwhile, Brazilian midfielder Fred on Sunday secured a late winner for Manchester United as Ralf Rangnick’s reign began with a 1-0 win over a stubborn Crystal Palace at Old Trafford.

Naija News reports that Fred struck first-time in the 77th minute from Mason Greenwood’s lay-off to send a superb 20-yard effort curling over Vicente Guaita and into the top corner.

It was only Fred’s second goal of the season – and the first time since the middle of September that United have recorded back-to-back league wins.

Until the Brazilian’s effort, Rangnick’s side created numerous decent chances, without really looking as though they were going to score and Guaita would probably have saved an Alex Telles free-kick that skimmed the bar had it been on target.

Indeed Palace, who were looking to win for a third successive season at Old Trafford, came close themselves when Jordan Ayew turned James Tomkins header across the face of goal and narrowly wide of the far post.
