NEWCASTLE vs Paris Saint-Germain

Call me crazy, but I think Newcastle can clinch an historic win over Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday.

The Toon secured an extremely impressive goalless draw against AC Milan at the San Siro in their Group F opener, and are absolutely flying domestically. Eddie Howe’s side have won four of the last five, following up their 8-0 demolition of Sheffield United with a 2-0 against Burnley.

That’s now five clean sheets on the trot for the Magpies, who will be running their socks off in front of 52,000 bouncing home supporters.

PSG were left massively frustrated when drawing 0-0 with lowly Clermont this past weekend, and have a rather poor 21% win-rate against English opposition away from the Parc des Princes. In fact, PSG have failed to win in seven of their last nine Champions League away trips.

RB Leipzig vs MANCHESTER CITY

Manchester City don’t lose three games in the spin. They scarcely lose twice on the bounce, and Pep Guardiola will be determined to right the wrongs of Saturday’s loss to Wolves.

And in some ways it’s the ideal opposition given City blasted RB Leipzig 7-0 during their last contest in March.

Rodri is currently serving a domestic ban, but the midfield lynchpin will be available to play in the Champions League, and it’s clear to see the positive impact that will make to Pep Guardiola’s starting XI. He’s huge for City.

Jack Grealish, Bernardo Silva and possibly even John Stones could all make a return to the starting XI, while Erling Haaland will fancy his chances of adding to his tally of 11 goals in six matches against Leipzig.

Lens vs ARSENAL

Arsenal certainly enjoyed their return to the Champions League in their opening fixture, crushing PSV 4-0 at the Emirates.

And they had the ideal preparation heading to France after another comprehensive 4-0 victory over Bournemouth on Saturday. Arsenal are purring, they are unbeaten in nine games this season – winning seven of those and scoring 20 goals in the process.

Defensively, they’ve been incredible on the road, keeping four-consecutive clean sheets against Bournemouth, Brentford, Everton and Crystal Palace.

And that’s fairly bad news for Lens, who aren’t exactly scoring a deluge of goals with six scored in their last seven. They’ve also managed one shut out in that run.
