MANCHESTER UNITED will get yet another home clash in the Carabao Cup according to SunSport’s simulated fifth round draw – if they can get past Newcastle first.

The supercomputer has rewarded United with a favourable draw against Ipswich or Fulham should United advance past the tricky test of Newcastle at home on Wednesday.

It would be their 11th consecutive home draw in domestic competitions if you were to exclude their double-legged Carabao Cup semi-final with Nottingham Forest in January.

The Red Devils will be looking to bounce back from their crushing 3-0 loss to Manchester City in a repeat of last year’s Carabao Cup final against The Magpies.

Elsewhere in the fifth round draw is a potentially tasty fixture between Arsenal or West Ham vs Bournemouth or Liverpool.

Despite their impressive trophy haul throughout their history, Arsenal have only won the league cup twice – with their most recent success coming in 1987.

West Ham meanwhile will be hoping to add another trophy to the cabinet having tasted glory with their Europa Conference League win in the summer.

Prospective opponents Liverpool last won the League Cup in 2022, when they completed a domestic cup double.

Liverpool narrowly missed out on the quadruple that year, finishing behind City on the final day of the Premier League and losing the Champions League final to Real Madrid.

Chelsea have the chance to put the misery of their 2-0 defeat against West London rivals Brentford behind them as they host Championship side Blackburn Rovers on Wednesday evening.

The winner of that match-up will play League Two Mansfield or League One Port Vale at home and will fancy their chances of advancing to the semi-finals.
