Burnley signed Hannibal Mejbri from United on a four-year deal on Wednesday.
The 21-year-old will join the Championship club for an initial £5.4m alongside a further £4m in bonuses.
United retain both a buy-back option and a 50 per cent sell-on clause in their “pure profit” deal.
But it’s Burnley’s social media admin who is clear winner here and surely deserves a bonus for conjuring up an unforgettable announcement video.
“Because Mejbri,” the Clarets wrote as the caption of the video, a pun of a line in the chorus of Oasis’s most famous tune, Wonderwall.
After the initial introduction of the Gallagher brothers in the clip, Hannibal appears on a guitar.
Then, Burnley switch the lyrics from “And after all, you’re my Wonderwall” to “you’re my Hannibal”.
Even with the Clarets’ reputation for creativity in this field, fans were in awe of their latest effort.

A second user wrote: ” This creativity at its finest. Unbelievable video.”
Another added: “When someone asked if Burnley do the best transfer announcements, I said maybe .”
While an Arsenal fan noted: “This might be the best transfer announcement of all time.”
Before a fifth said: “Elite. This is absolutely class. Hope he enjoys his new chapter.”
The X post already has 800,000 views at the time of writing.
Hannibal played for United’s academy and made his first team debut in 2021.
The midfielder made 13 appearances for the Red Devils, scoring once in the 3-1 loss to Brighton in the Premier League last season.
But it’s no secret that Liam and Noel Gallagher have a strong hatred for United, given they’re die hard fans of their rivals, Manchester City.
Oasis, meanwhile, announced their first tour as a band since 2009 on Tuesday morning.
Liam is set to perform three Oasis tunes as a special guest at Wembley before the British heavyweight title clash between Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois on September 21.
