Brighton ace fires dig at Chelsea and says ‘they’ve taken a lot from us and have more money’ but ‘we are a happy club’
PASCAL GROSS could not resist firing a cheeky dig at Chelsea ahead of Brighton’s visit to Stamford Bridge today.
The 32-year-old midfielder and the Seagulls travel to West London six points ahead of the Blues in the Premier League table.

Chelsea have forked out over £1billion since Todd Boehly’s arrival last year on new players – including around £200m to Brighton for Moises Caicedo, Robert Sanchez and Marc Cucurella.
That was after they had shelled out £21.5m to them to bring manager Graham Potter, who was axed in April, and his staff from the Amex.
But even after that huge outlay, Brighton could still end today nine points ahead of their big-spending rivals.
And ahead of the game, German international Gross could not resist a sly jab at Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
The veteran, who has been on the South Coast since 2017, was quoted by the Daily Mail as saying: “They have taken a lot of our players from us.
“They have more money than us so they can do that but that doesn’t matter on the pitch.
“Brighton is a happy place. I don’t know about Chelsea, I concentrate on my club.
“Brighton is a good place to be. We are growing. We fight for each other. We have a lot of good people and great times ahead.”

Caicedo has struggled to reach the heights he hit with Brighton so far at Chelsea since his British record £115m move.
When Pochettino was asked whether the 22-year-old Ecuadorian midfielder had been affected by the price tag, he said: “It’s easy now to blame the money, it’s easy to blame different aspects. He is a human being.
“When something is covered in expectation, then [people] find something to blame. But it’s a process, it’s normal. For him it’s tough also, but for everyone, the expectation is different.
“The shirt is different, the badge is different, the context is different, the team-mates are different, different club, everything is different.
“It’s about time to fit and to start to perform.”
