Newcastle vs Man Utd betting tips

There’s always the fear that an international break can disrupt a rhythm, particularly if leaving on a high.

And that’s exactly what both Eddie Howe and Erik ten Hag are hoping DOESN’T happen.

Newcastle went into the break off the back of back-to-back 2-1 wins, including a late winner from the penalty spot at Nottingham Forest.

The Carabao Cup final seemed to hinder the Toon in the league and they went five games without a win in all competitions over that period.

That included the Wembley defeat to Sunday’s visitors, who stuttered to a 0-0 draw with Southampton before needing two Fulham reds to beyond in the FA Cup.

They’re still in third spot, though 11 points behind Man City in second, so a top four spot is the main objective.

A win for Newcastle here – and they have only lost two of the past six meetings between the sides at St James’ – would see them leapfrog the Reds.

Should Spurs also win this weekend, United could find themselves outside the top four come Monday morning.

Newcastle have scored in five of the last six home games against Man Utd, with goals very much likely here.

Goals each

Goals are almost guaranteed to come in this fixture…famous last words!?

As mentioned, Newcastle have scored in five of the last six home meetings with Man Utd, and United have goals everywhere in their side.

As for the forward men, there’s two men in pretty good form who will fancy making the scoresheet this weekend.

Alexander Isak is back fit and firing in the Toon side and scored three goals in the two games before the break.

While Rashford scored in both legs against Betis in the Europa League. Despite the goals drying up on the domestic front, he’s still creating chances and could explode into life once more.

Our tip: Both teams to score, Isak to have 2+ shots on target and Rashford 1+ shots on target at 29/10 with Ladbrokes

Caution! Brazilian battle….

Casemiro serves the second game of a four-match suspension for this one.

So he’ll miss out on the ‘battle of the Brazilians’ in midfield with Fred set to tackle Bruno Guimaraes and Joelinton alone – well, just without Casemiro.

In truth, either of them are a good bet to pick up a booking this weekend.

But Joelinton is fresh off a suspension and the break, will be his industrious self and is the best price of the three to be carded.

With ten to his name so far, it’s a fair shout to reckon he’ll make it 11.

Our tip: Joelinton to be carded at 7/4 with William Hill

Bruno ball

Bruno Fernandes is probably United’s first name on the team sheet at present.

And playing along that front line, you have to use that to your advantage.

He’s taken 55 shots in the league this season, surprising only 19 on target.

But with a lot at stake here, it would be no surprise to see him recapture a bit of form in front of goal.

Particularly against Newcastle, a team he’s scored past in the last two seasons.

Our tip: Bruno Fernandes over 1 shot on target at 29/10 with William Hill
