BETPAWA PREMIER LEAGUE GOES AHEAD DESPITE THREAT OF INJUNCTION

Ghana’s BetPawa Premier League kicked off this weekend as scheduled although there was an injunction from Managment of Obuasi Ashgold SC.

The first match which involved Accra Great Olympics and Bechem United opened the Week One fixtures. Olympics won by a lone goal in the fiercely contested game.

Samuel Ashie Quaye scored the only goal of the game which also happens to be the first goal which opens up the 2022/23 season.

Various League Centers were also busy today as the respective clubs went head-to-head to secure points for the league log.

The top liner for week one ended with a goal for the hosts in Dormaa. Aduana FC pipped Accra Hearts of Oak by a lone goal at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park. Bright Adjei got the lone goal for Aduana.

At the Tamale Sports Stadium, Real Tamale United settled for a barren draw with Samatex.

Kotoku Royals managed to get their first win the elite Premier League after they beat Accra Lions by a goal. Augustine Boakye registered his name for the Eastern Region based team.

Also, Dreams FC recored an away win in Week One after beating Gold Stars by a goal at Biabiani. Blessing Dana was the goal scorer for Dreams.

The second away win came from Medeama FC as they won against Legon City by a lone goal at the Accra Sports Stadium. Legon City could not equalize the goal scored by Kofi Asmah after various attempts.

Berekum Chelsea and King Faisal will square off at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park in Dormaa on Monday afternoon. the last match involving Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Nostreman FC has been postponed.

Kotoko have travelled outside Ghana to face Burkina Faso side Kadigo in the CAF Champions League.
