EX-ENGLAND star Ugo Monye suffered with hiccups while presenting the BBC’s Six Nations highlights show.

The former winger is now a broadcaster but he had a nightmare while discussing the opening round of matches.

Fortunately he was able to laugh about his misfortune as pundits Sam Warburton and John Barclay were left in stitches.

Monye first hiccuped while asking his colleagues about Ireland’s impressive 34-10 win over Wales in Cardiff.

He managed his way through the first two questions before it became too much for Warburton to deal with.

The former Wales captain interjected saying: “I can’t ignore those hiccups!”

Warburton and Barclay could not stop laughing with Monye responding by saying: “I’m giddy!”

Monye later made fun of himself by sharing a video on Twitter of Wayne Mardle’s iconic “I can’t spake!” darts commentary.

He captioned the post: “When’s the best time to get hiccups before doing live TV? Apparently five minutes before you go on air!!”

Manager Steve Borthwick said after the defeat: “To go in at half-time in the position we were in was an immense credit to the players and at 20-12 up and in control of the game, we shouldn’t be letting that get away from us and we did.

“We’ll have a look at it, and I think that’s part of the growth of the team because you’ve got to go through some pain.

“You don’t want to, but there was certainly enough there on that pitch that said I can see some aspects we’re working on, and I can see some things we need to improve.

“We got ourselves in a position to win that game and we didn’t, and we’ll look at that to make sure we are better going forward.”
