BBC horse racing tips backfire this year as just one in five win
BBC horse racing tips left punters out of pocket this year — with just one in five winners chosen.
Analysis of 566 mounts picked by Radio 4’s Today programme shows only 108 romped home first.

If listeners had put a £1 stake on each fancied runner they would now be nursing a loss of £69.
It is the third year running the Beeb has let down punters.
Mark Crawford, who records the news show’s tips and results, revealed it lost 12 per cent of its stakes.
He told Today: “This wasn’t a terrible year but you still lost £69 had you backed each of your horses to the tune of £1.”
Listeners would have lost £4 less — £65 in total — had they backed horse number two in all races.
Last year the show — tipping races for more than 40 years — picked 572 horses, “losing” £106.
