Fish and chips and samosas are just some of the items on sale this weekend at the London Stadium.

And they’ll be joined by some ballpark classics from across the Atlantic – as well as a giant hot dog.

The New York Mets take on the Philadelphia Phillies on June 8 and 9 in this year’s MLB London series.

The games will take place at the London Stadium in the east of the city.

The east end of London is renowned for British classics but also Indian food.

Lamb samosas with onion bhajis and tamarind chutney will be available to purchase at three food outlets.

While fans in premium hospitality will be offered a “chippy tea”, also known as fish and chips, on arrival.

In terms of American offerings, the two-foot “Boomstick hot dog” covered in braised beef and chilli with jalapenos, nacho cheese and sour cream tops the menu.

The 24-inch beast comes in around 2,500 calories once the bread and all the toppings have been added.

There is also the “Boomstick nachos” option, which is a two-foot bed of tortilla chips with cheese, braised beef, bean chili, jalapenos, sour cream and onions.

The menu also features a flavor each from both New York and Philadelphia.

A New York deli pastrami will be sold in homage to the Big Apple.

While Philadelphia’s dish is, obviously, a Philadelphia cheesesteak.

Also on the table will be a “Knuckleball” burger comprising two beef patties with pulled pork, cheese and bacon.

Home runs and boomsticks

MLB is back in London for a third time this summer when the Philadelphia Phillies take on the New York Mets.

The London Stadium will transform from a football pitch to a baseball field for the June 8 and 9 spectacle.

Fans attending the games can feast on some extravagant ballpark menu items such as boomstick nachos (pictured) and a two-foot boomstick hotdog.

The New York Yankees won both games in 2019 against their rivals the Boston Red Sox.

And the Chicago Cubs split their series with the St Louis Cardinals when the teams faced off in 2023.

There’s also buttermilk fried chicken with bacon, served with mayo and slaw on a savory doughnut.

Meanwhile, local options also include English-style sausages, pulled pork rolls and triple-patty burgers.

Organizers have also added 10 new bars around the London Stadium from last year’s series.

The popular beer bats, which sold out quickly in 2023, also make a return this weekend.

The Mets-Phillies series is the third to be hosted in London since 2019.

The New York Yankees took on the Boston Red Sox in the first ever London games five years ago.

And last year saw the Chicago Cubs face the St Louis Cardinals at the venue in east London.
