LONDON’S bragging rights are up for grabs again as Arsenal and Chelsea face off in a tasty Premier League affair – but there is much more than pride on the line.

The Gunners had put themselves in an unbelievable position to finally lift their first league title since the Invincibles in 2004.

Until Wednesday when Kevin De Bruyne’s double and an Erling Haaland masterclass put Manchester City in the driver’s seat despite sitting in second place.

Pep Guardiola’s side then took top place with a 2-1 win over Fulham on Saturday but the Gunners have the perfect chance to bounce back against a struggling Blues side low on confidence.

Chelsea have lost FIVE consecutive matches under interim boss Frank Lampard including a 2-0 defeat to rivals Brentford last time out.

To make matters worse they have scored just one goal in their last seven games and even that was a deflected Conor Gallagher strike against Brighton.

However, form often goes out the window when these two English giants take centre stage so it’s set to be an all-out war at the Emirates.

What is Arsenal’s form like?

Arsenal’s malaise set in before their clash with City and they are now four games without a win.

Draws with Liverpool, West Ham and Southampton have knocked the Gunners off their perch and conceding goals has been a big problem of late.

Saliba’s absence has been felt but sloppy errors have creeped into their game, resulting in goals being conceded against City and Southampton.

Despite the recent slip Arteta is unlikely to make many changes, although Leandro Trossard, Kieran Tierney or Jorginho could be brought into the side.

How are Chelsea getting on?

Chelsea last tasted victory with a 3-1 win over Leicester on March 11.

In the eight games since they have scored just three and conceded an alarming 13 goals, with Lampard failing to turn things around.

They have failed to beat the likes of Wolves, Everton and Southampton in recent weeks so Arsenal present an almighty challenge.

What is the team news?

Mikel Arteta would have hoped that William Saliba could be fit enough to return for this huge London rivalry.

The Arsenal boss confirmed Saliba is unavailable and reports suggest Saliba could even miss the remainder of the season due to his ongoing back issue.

Takehiro Tomiyasu and Mohamed Elneny continue their knee recovery sessions while Emile Smith Rowe could feature once again after playing 19 minutes at the Eithad.

Elsewhere, Chelsea have a lengthy injury list.

England duo Reece James (thigh) and Mason Mount (groin) join Armando Broja (cruciate ligament) in being ruled out for the rest of the campaign.

Kalidou Koulibaly (muscle) and Marc Cucurella (thigh) are also expected to be unavailable.

And Kai Havertz’s knee problems could mean a start for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on his return to the Emirates.

While Mykhaylo Mudryk will be determined to show Arsenal what they missed out on in the bidding war with Chelsea.

Ones to watch

Bukayo Saka has dipped in form recently but a London derby provides the ideal occasion for the winger to get Arsenal’s title bid back on track.

The England international has 13 goals and 11 assists in the Prem this season and a battle against Three Lions team-mate Ben Chilwell is a mouthwatering prospect.

Meanwhile Chelsea also need their big players to step up, particularly in attack.

Mudryk and Aubameyang have added motivation given the opponent but N’Golo Kante’s energy in midfield may be the difference between winning and losing.

He often steps up in big games and he could be key to stopping Arsenal dangerman Martin Odegaard, while helping Chilwell deal with Saka.

What have the managers said?

Mikel Arteta is proud of his players and wants them to bounce back from the disappointing result at City.

He said: “We are Arsenal Football Club, we have to be here to win every single trophy. This is the demands. The reality will happen in the last 15 years, that’s not the reality, but the demands have to be there.

“The things I like the most, I’ll repeat myself, great, we are in Champions League, and everybody is still unsatisfied with the situation. And this is what we need if we’re going to move forward as a club and as a team.

“Win tomorrow, that’s what we have to do. Within the disappointment and the spirit around it, two things: recognise what a lot of people have done at the club to get us back into the Champions League because it was already a difficult thing to achieve and not a lot of people were very optimistic that we had the ability to do that at the start of the season.

“Second thing is what I like the most, is even achieving that with six games to go I don’t think it has happened in more than a decade of the club, but we’re still not satisfied and we’re still upset and we want more.

“So we want be the club that we want to be to be consistently with the best that’s the mentality that we need and that’s what I loved more the last few days.”

Lampard thinks it could be a good time to play the Gunners but still believes they can win the league.

He said: “[They are] very much in the hunt still to win the league. If they’re wounded they could have a big reaction, if we can make things difficult, it could be different.

“I also lived 10 years of success here and saw it continue. It can be pretty normal of all of the top clubs in the league.

“Our opponents are good example of that. We need to work on all aspects of the club to get the feeling of where we want to be.

“We’re trying to bring back good feeling.

“I’m very proud to manage the club and I enjoy doing my job. Reality of football is your career won’t be full of successes. You can’t always control results but you can control the work.”
