Arsenal hit with huge injury blow after Gabriel Jesus limps off holding hamstring as Arteta warns it’s ‘not good news’

MIKEL ARTETA admitted it was “not got news” for Arsenal after forward Gabriel Jesus limped off holding his hamstring during their 2-1 win over Sevilla.

Jesus, 26, scored a sensational goal for the Gunners in their vital victory in Spain on Tuesday evening.

Arsenal’s Gabriel Jesus was replaced by Leandro Trossard after suffering a knockPA

The Brazilian appeared to be holding his hamstringRex

But he suffered a knock in the 80th minute after riding a challenge from Boubakary Soumare.

Arsenal took no chances with their Brazilian attacker as Leandro Trossard prepared to replace him.

And as Jesus got to his feet to trudge off the pitch, he appeared to be holding his hamstring.

This was confirmed by Arteta during his post-match interview as he added further concern to the injury fear.

Speaking to TNT Sports, he said: “He felt something in his hamstring so let’s see.

“He straight away asked to be subbed which is not good news because he’s not a player that does that at all.

“We’ll have to wait and see in the next few days.”

He said: “I felt something. Let’s see. I did some tests with the physio, it looks not that big, but let’s see.

“I have a scan, maybe tomorrow. I’m pretty sure it will be nothing.”

Jesus missed the opening two games of the Premier League season due to a knee injury.

Following his return, he has scored four goals and provided one assists in 11 games.

Arteta’s men host Sheffield United in the league, before travelling to West Ham in the Carabao Cup.

They then return to Premier League action away at Newcastle ahead of a second Champions League clash with Sevilla.
