Armed Bandits Kill 80-year-old Woman, Four Others In Fresh Kaduna Attacks
The Kaduna State Government has confirmed the killing of an 80-year-old woman identified as Hauwwa Umaru by armed bandits in Sharu village, Igabi LGA of Kaduna State.
In a statement, the State Chairman, Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan said security agencies reported the killing of the aged woman to the Kaduna govt.
He disclosed that the bandits stormed the village and raided several homes, adding that they shot sporadically, Hauwwa Umaru, was hit by a bullet and died instantly.
In another incident, Aruwan said unknown gunmen killed one Samaila Yohanna, the Ward Head of Konti, in Chikun local government area.
Also in Chikun LGA, bandits killed two locals, Alhaji Sani and Malam Rabiu, at Dande.
He added that in Giwa local government area, armed bandits barricaded the road between Fatika and Kidandan and opened fire on commuters plying the road.
The Commissioner explained that one unidentified woman was killed, and three other persons were injured in the attack.
He added that Governor Nasir El-Rufai received the reports of the killings with sadness, and conveyed his condolences to the families of the deceased’s, praying for the repose of their souls. He also prayed for a speedy recovery for the injured.
El-Rufai also implored security agencies to ensure diligent investigations into the disturbing incidents.
