Pop superstar Ariana made a grand arrival at the Trocadero ahead of the opening ceremony for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

She looked elegant in a ’50s-esque light pink evening gown that featured a bow on the waist. She finished off the look with a pair of white gloves and pink and white pumps.

The star quality continued with John Legend’s wife Chrissy Teigen on the red carpet dressed in a green co-ord with gold buttons and sky scrapper heels.

Excitement is already building as a white piano was seen floating down the River Seine, ready to be played by a surprise performer.

For the first time it is being performed on a river and not in a stadium.

High-wire artists have also been spotted seemingly walking on water, and dancers are preparing to dazzle from rooftops along the route.

The grand procession will culminate at the iconic Eiffel Tower.

An estimated three thousand spectators will line the kilometre-long route, witnessing a spectacle involving 2000 artists and 500 musicians, who have been meticulously rehearsing for 200 days.

The opening ceremony, expected to last around four hours, was designed to be a lavish and innovative display along the River Seine to celebrate the city’s history, beauty, and the rich diversity of France.

Paris has been preparing for this day for years.

But the festivities were marred by travel chaos today and a series of arson attacks on the railway networks, disrupting both local and international services.

Prime Minister Keir Starmer had to fly to Paris instead of taking the train from St Pancras.

Snoop Dogg lit up at the Olympics earlier today.

The American rapper, 52, danced through the streets of Paris on the final day of the torch’s relay across France.
