ANTHONY JOSHUA has been called out by Edgar Berlanga – despite their FIVE STONE weight difference.

Berlanga campaigns in the 12st super-middleweight division while AJ weighed in at 18st for his last bout.

But despite the huge size disparity, Berlanga posted online: “I would love to go up to heavyweight and fight Anthony Joshua just to test greatness.

“Nothing bad towards this. I’ll walk in the ring 210lbs.”

Joshua, 34, is coming off a fifth-round knockout loss to Daniel Dubois, 27, after being floored FOUR times at Wembley.

Berlanga, 27, was meanwhile dropped in his 12-round decision loss to Mexican superstar Canelo Alvarez, 34.

The American suffered the first defeat of his 23-fight career.

Berlanga became a KO sensation after stopping his first 16 opponents all in the first round.

And his former Hall of Fame promoter Bob Arum compared him to heavyweight icon Mike Tyson.

He posted in 2020: “Edgar Berlanga Jr is the greatest power-punching phenomenon I’ve seen since the heyday of a young Mike Tyson.

“I am absolutely astounded when I witness this incredible power of his punches from ringside.”

Canelo was taken the distance by Berlanga despite the one-sided loss – but sees a bright future for the KO artist.

Berlanga said on Sways Universe: “After the fight, he told me I’m going to be a world champion, and I’m going to be a superstar.

“His family told me, ‘You’re going to be the Face of Boxing.’”
