Alexey Tsatevich dead at 34: Former pro cyclist who converted to ice hockey sadly passes away
RUSSIAN cyclist Alexey Tsatevich has passed away aged 34.
He spent six years as a professional cyclist before retiring in 2017.

Tsatevich rode for Russian team Katusha, moving onto the Wolrd Tour in 2012 – a year after turning pro.
His biggest win came in 2016 when he took a stage at the Volta a Catalunya – pipping former world No1 Primoz Roglic on the line.
Tsatevich won three pro races including Le Samyn in 2013 and Settimana Ciclista Lombarda.
He also participated in the Giro d’Italia twice before moving to another Russian team Gazprom-Rusvelo in 2016, where he spent one year before retiring.
After quitting cycling, Tsatevich turned to ice hockey where he became captain of the Meteor LHL team.
Tsatevich also participated in the Army Olympic Games and was awarded the Order of Courage.
He even met President Vladimir Putin during his career.
Tsatevich’s funeral will take place on Wednesday in the town of Verkhnyaya Pyshma, and fans have offered their condolences.
One paid tribute saying: “34-years-old is much too young… condolences to his loved ones.”
Another added: “Tragic fate, rest in peace Alexey.”
