Agent conspired with Zamalek to agree $250,000 Benjamin Acheampong settlement instead of $ 1.1m

Ghanaian forward Benjamin Acheampong has disclosed his former agent conspired with Zamalek to agree on a settlement of $250,000 instead of an amount of $1.1 million.The Court of Arbitration for Sport had ordered the Egyptian giants to pay the ex-Kotoko attacker $1.1 million after unilaterally canceled the player’s contract during his time with the team.According to Acheampong, his former agent, a former Egypt captain Nader El Sayed falsified documents to agree a settlement of $250,000 which is just 25% of what CAS told the club to pay.Meanwhile, El Sayed, whose paperwork states he will receive 20% told the BBC the documents are both “authorised” and “official”.”The mere contention that Mr Acheampong would – two weeks after the notification of the Cas decision – suddenly authorise a third party to accept a settlement for less than 25% of the amount due is preposterous,” Roy Vermeer, the legal director at global players’ union Fifpro told the BBC.Benjamin Acheampong is yet to receive a dime from the five times African champions.
