He had more success in his first season while at RB Leipzig but went on to struggle in the Bundesliga before being sold to Atalanta.
He’s gone on to play the best football of his career in Serie A, racking up 13 goals and eight assists last season and has also experienced a strong start to this campaign.
And that’s alerted the interest of both Juventus and Atletico Madrd, SunSport can exclusively reveal.
Lookman has scored seven goals and assisted three this season and is thought of as one of the most talented players in Italy.
He is currently away at the Africa Cup of Nations with Nigeria – where he has been one of the tournament’s standout players.
The forward scored both goals in Nigeria’s 2-0 round of 16 victory over Cameroon to fire them into the quarter-finals.
And the Super Eagles will take on Angola tomorrow at 5pm British time as they look to book a place in the semis.
His Afcon campaign will complicate any move for him from Atletico or Juventus, however, and could push off their interest until the summer.

Both clubs would need to dispatch officials to the Ivory Coast to seal a late deal and the logistics of completing a medical would be near impossible.
Lookman represented England extensively at youth level before switching allegiance to Nigeria in 2022.
He first burst onto the scene as a youngster at Charlton, after joining at the age of 16 from Sunday League side Waterloo.
His impressive performances with the club’s U18s and U21s sides saw him fast-tracked into the Addicks’ first-team.
Lookman was promoted to the Addicks’ first team in 2015 and amassed a total of 12 goals in 49 appearances.
The rising star made a big leap to Everton two years later but struggled with only four goals in 48 matches.
Several Premier League clubs are also on alert ahead of a move for Lookman and could launch bids in the summer.
