Saka looks embarrassed live on TNT Sports and insists ‘I didn’t say that’ as Arsenal star reminded about past interview

BUKAYO SAKA looked embarrassed on TNT Sport as he was reminded about a hilarious past interview.

The winger was on the scoresheet last night as Arsenal thrashed Lens 6-0 to top their Champions League group and seal progress to the last 16 with a game to spare.

Saka pulled the strings from out wide as Kai Havertz, Gabriel Jesus, Gabriel Martinelli, Martin Odegaard and Jorginho also netted.

His performance saw him join an elite group of just three players who have scored and assisted in three consecutive Champions League home games.

And the England ace now has 45 goals in 198 games for the Gunners after making his senior debut in November 2018.

Just a month after his senior bow, Saka was handed his first continental start in Arsenal’s 1-0 Europa League win over Qarabag.

And after making a brilliant impression, he hilariously revealed he’d been sent to bed early by his mum to ensure he was ready for action.

Saka said at the time: “My family were buzzing, they couldn’t stop smiling when I told them.

“But they managed to put me to bed early to focus on today, they were so happy.”

Unfortunately for Saka, the brilliant interview was revisited as he gave his thoughts on last night’s victory over Lens.

TNT Sports host Reshmin Chowdhury had also conducted the interview with Saka five years ago.

And she could not resist poking fun at it, leading the England winger to declare “I didn’t say that!”

Chowdhury said: “When you did make that debut in Europe, I interviewed you after the game.

“You remember, because your answer was ‘I was so excited, I found out last night and my mum had to put me to bed’.”

Saka burst out laughing as he shook his head, replying: “I didn’t say that! I didn’t say that! I knew you were going to bring that up!”

Chowdury said: “What I heard is the guys on the Whatsapp group just killed you for it.”

Saka replied: “My friends and family did, I don’t know why I even said that.

“That didn’t happen. She sort of told me to go to bed but didn’t put me to bed, there’s a difference. But it’s a funny moment to be fair.”
