Daniel Amartey wins fifth trophy in Europe

Ghanaian defender Daniel Amartey has won the 2020-21 English FA Cup with Leicester City. This is Amarty’s second trophy with the Foxes after winning the English Premier League in 2016-17 season.

Leicester piped Chelsea FC by a lone goal on Saturday to
clinch the FA cup thanks to Youri Tielemans. The match took place at the famous
Wembley Stadium.

Amartey did not get the chance to play for his side and was
an unused substitute when his side battled Chelsea to win the trophy.

This becomes his second league trophy after winning the 2015-16 Danish Superliga with FC Copenhagen.

He moved to England in January 2016 from Danish side FC
Copenhagen after playing there for two seasons.

A move from Inter Allies in Ghana saw him playing in the
Swedish league for Djugardens IF in 2013.

Amartey has so far played 81 games for Leicester City
scoring 2 goals. He has also had upsets as a result of injuries during this period.

Controversy after
FA Cup win

The Ghanaian defender created an unwanted attention for himself in the aftermath of the win. He was seen in a video throwing Chelsea’s pennant over his head in the dressing room in the wake of the celebrations.

Chelsea fans have blasted him causing Leicester officials to
apologize to them.

Leicester take on Chelsea again on Tuesday in the make or
break for a third place in the English Premier League.

The Blues are lagging behind the Foxes by two points difference
with Liverpool just behind Chelsea by a point.
