Inside the Housekeeping Olympics where contestants battle for gold medals with brooms, vacuums and making beds

LAS Vegas’ Michelob ULTRA Arena hosted the 33rd annual Housekeeping Olympics on Monday.

During the event, international teams competed in categories ranging from vacuum races to bed making.

Hospitality workers from Las Vegas and around the world took part in the one-of-a-kind competition for prizes and bragging rights.

This was the first time the event was held in four years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Competitors also swept with brooms and participated in a mop relay.

“For me, it’s very special,” Feve Rodriguez, a Bellagio team member said to Fox Las Vegas.

“Because we don’t have too many times together, just to enjoy.”

Fans on X, formerly known as Twitter, went wild over the event.

One wrote: “I would watch this over Formula 1 any day,” comparing it to the race on Saturday in Las Vegas.

A second joked: “Can we gamble on this?”

Another asked: “Can they come help me with my toddler?”

And a fourth quipped: “My mom would’ve won.”

Teams competing included Park MGM, ARIA, Bellagio, Luxor, Virgin, Cosmopolitan, and many more.

As for the winners, team Bellagio took home gold.

The event is expected to return next year.
