EDDIE HOWE vowed to give Erik Ten Hag another ‘f***ing quick game’ and pile more misery on Manchester United.

An X-rated team talk by the Newcastle boss — captured on camera in April — came after Ten Hag accused the Magpies of “annoying” time-wasting tactics.

Howe roared back then: “If they want a quick game, coming here, let’s f*****g give it to them.”

Toon swarmed all over the Red Devils in a 2-0 win at St James’ Park after his rousing speech — avenging their Carabao Cup final defeat five weeks earlier.

But Howe still bristles at Ten Hag’s jibe. He claimed: “A lot was falsely made of our game management last year.

“We’re a high-energy, high-tempo team. We want the ball in play. We want quick games.”

Last year’s finalists meet again in the Carabao Cup fourth round with Howe keen for the Magpies to improve a poor record at Old Trafford — where their only win since 1972 came a decade ago.

He added: “Our run last year whet the appetite — we want this on a more regular basis. We have to be a Newcastle team showing up and performing in the way we’ve become accustomed to.

“Can we be part of the team that wins at Old Trafford for the first time in a long time? That’s got to be part of our psyche.”

Howe’s biggest call is whether to start Callum Wilson or rest the No 9 for Saturday’s Prem game with Arsenal. Alexander Isak, their only other striker, is injured.

He added: “That was one of the reasons for signing Anthony Gordon, who played as a centre-forward for England Under-21s at the Euros and did a great job.

“We just didn’t have the resources to sign a third striker. You just have to roll with the punches and absorb the hits. We need everybody in the squad to step up.

“To not use our squad would be foolish but that doesn’t mean we don’t trust our squad to be able to go to Old Trafford and win.”

Defender Sven Botman could now be a long-term absentee with a knee problem having not played since September.

Howe is still waiting for “clarity” on whether Italian midfielder Sandro Tonali can train with the club during his ten-month ban for breaching betting rules.
