John Terry confirms he’s ‘in negotiations with Saudi Arabia’ and urges players to join oil-rich league in their primes
JOHN TERRY has confirmed he is “in negotiations with Saudi Arabia” and urged young players to join the oil-rich league.
SunSport previously revealed the Chelsea legend has been in talks with Saudi side Al-Shabab FC to make his managerial breakthrough.

Terry is set to be the next Premier League legend to move to the Middle Eastern country.
The 42-year-old was approached by bosses at Al-Shabab in the summer and has been offered a contract of at least two years and up to four if it is rubber-stamped as expected.
And on The Obi One Podcast, hosts John Obi Mikel and Chris McHardy asked the former England captain about the ongoing Saudi rumours.
When questioned if he was moving to the Gulf State, Terry said: “I have been in negotiations with Saudi for over a couple of months now.
“We are trying to agree on something. Again whether I am there as a little more permanent or temporary or ambassador, whatever that looks like.
“I can’t really go into too much detail but we are in discussions.
“Hopefully, with the team I am in talks with the process will happen. it just might not happen overnight.
“I’m excited. I think it’s incredible what they’re doing over there.”

Terry’s most recent coaching role was under Dean Smith at Leicester last season but he’s never been a manager.
He is currently on a one-year deal at Stamford Bridge as a consultant in the Blues’ academy.
Chelsea have already said they will not stand in his way as a mark of respect for his service to them over almost two decades.
He is the most successful player in Chelsea’s history with five Premier League titles, the Champions League and five FA Cups among his trophy haul, and played 717 games for them.
The ex-Blues captain also urged young players to make a move to the Middle East.
Terry added: “What I will say to any younger players when you finish at a football club.
“When you finish – and I spent an awful long time at Chelsea. It’s done. You don’t get nothing from it. There is nothing there, you leave your legacy and that’s it.
“So protect yourself and your family and you do what is right for you and them and if that means going to Saudi for five years at the age of 28 then so be it.”
A string of top-name players have already moved to the Saudi League including three former Blues stars, N’Golo Kante, Edouard Mendy and Kalidou Koulibaly.
Terry’s former England team-mate Steven Gerrard is in Saudi working as boss of Al-Ettifaq. Ex-Liverpool striker Robbie Fowler is also there managing Al-Qadsiah.
