MANCHESTER UNITED fans have been left shocked after seeing Casemiro named as their September Player of the Month.
September proved to be a difficult month for Erik ten Hag’s Red Devils, winning just two of their six games in all competitions.

However, fans were left surprised to learn 31-year-old Casemiro had been named Player of the Month.
The defensive midfielder appeared in every game throughout, chipping in with two goals against Bayern Munich and another in the 3-0 League Cup win over Crystal Palace.
Aside from scoring, other aspects have let the Brazilian down, with the United midfield looking vulnerable to attack.
Despite this, Casemiro claimed 70 per cent of the vote, with Bruno Fernandes coming in second with 21 per cent and Diogo Dalot in third with nine per cent.
Reacting to the news on X, formerly known as Twitter, fans were left baffled by his selection.
One fan said: “They clearly did not watch him play.”
A second commented: “Did Stevie Wonder do the voting?”
A third typed: “How’s he snuck into that then?”

Another added: “They have no idea what they’re watching bro.”
Casemiro was sent off in Man Utd’s first October game against Galatasaray, albeit due to taking one for the team after a grave error from Andre Onana.
United face Brentford in the Premier League next.
They have been boosted by the return of a number of midfielders and an upturn in form from Rasmus Hojlund.
However, a defensive injury crisis that has left them without first-choice centre-back Lisandro Martinez and just one fit full-back has served to ensure the club’s sticky start to the season continues.
The international break will follow after this weekend’s round of fixtures, with Gareth Southgate having revealed his latest England team earlier today.
