Owen’s tips
Everything looks right for a big run from the Saeed bin Suroor-trained Global Heat (2.25).
His price is rather baffling, given he was an impressive Listed winner at Meydan in the winter.
He’s failed to win in four runs since, but he shaped really well on British return last time, only weakening late over 1m6f.
His quirks were on display there, as his head did come up and he hung late on, but Goodwood isn’t the easiest of tracks for a horse like him.
He’s not handicapped out of things and he loves this true summer ground.
The yard are totally flying and I can see him getting involved at huge odds under Kieran Shoemark, who is 3-9 when riding for the stable.
At Beverley, Mick and David Easterby have two chances in the 2.40, but I’d be siding with the lesser fancied Beauty Choice.
Let’s not beat around the bush, he’s very difficult to win with, but this sort of race should suit him.
He’s shown glimmers of promise in two runs since joining the stable and now sits on his last winning rating.
Placed off a 1lb higher mark last summer in this grade, he loves this ground and the yard are in flying form.
At this stage of his career, the extended 7f could really suit him and you can pick holes in many of the fancies runners.
At his current odds, I’m more than happy to take a stab that he revives for his canny training partnership.
