JOHN CENA made an emotional return to the WWE last night.

The American appeared on Monday Night RAW in Boston, Massachusetts.

Cena, 45, appeared teary-eyed as he was met by the adulation of the crowd.

As music blared, the actor and wrestler, donning a “Never Give Up” T-shirt and black baseball cap, spoke into the camera.

Referencing his pal and cameraman, Cena said: “Stu has a day off..

“He’s a little older and needs some rest. Man you should be here to see this. This is good.”

Fans will get to see Cena in action at Wrestlemania 39 next month.

He will take on 25-year-old Austin Theory for the WWE United States Championship.

The duo faced off last night, Cena initially rejecting Theory’s call-out before agreeing to take him on.

Wrestlemania 39 will take place on April 1 and 2 in Inglewood, California.

Also on the bill will be Roman Reigns vs Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.

Bianca Belair will do battle with Asuka for the RAW Women’s Championship, with Charlotte Flair taking on Rhea Ripley in the Smackdown Women’s Championship.

Also on the bill will be Brock Lesnar’s clash with Omos, while Logan Paul will take on Seth Rollins.

Fans adored Cena’s WWE return.
