Christian Atsu has been idolized by his former playing mates and football fans all over the world. The former Black Stars winger has had friends trooping into his family house to sympathize with the family.

The late 31-year-old footballer passed away last week when he was caught in the rumble of an earthquake in Turkey where he was playing his football.

Liberia’s President George Weah has presented $10,000 to the family of Christian Atsu. The former World Player of the year expressed his condolence to the bereaved family.

Most former mates of the Black Stars have spoken fondly of Atsu as his death comes as a big shock to them. Former Juventus and Inter Milan player Kwadwo Asamoah shed tears when he was asked about the sad incident.

He described Atsu as a person loved by all when they shared the dressing room for the national team.

Atsu’s close friend Mubarack Wakaso has presented canteens of drinks and water to the family as per the traditions of Ghana’s customs.

Some former players paid a courtesy call on the family to express their grief. They were led by former Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan. The team included Sulley Muntari and Agyemang Badu.

Inter Milan striker Romano Lukaku who was Atsu mate at Everton has also taken to social media to express his sadness over the loss of his good friend.
